Interdisciplinary research

Tips for finding information in non-legal sources

It is quite likely that at some point in your academic career in Law, your topic of research will cross over into another discipline or several disciplines in which case you’ll want to be aware of other resources available at the University of Ottawa’s libraries (books, databases, indexes, journals, etc.). Once you have a research topic in mind and keywords associated with that topic, you can begin your search for material in the library catalogue.

The library subscribes to hundreds of electronic resources. Consult the A-Z Subject list  to discover databases, e-journals, websites, etc. which may be useful to your interdisciplinary topic (e.g. Social Work, Criminology, Philosophy).

At any point during your research, do not hesitate to contact a librarian for assistance in locating appropriate materials.
